It is no Secret – KE Chinese Drama makes its debut in Shanghai Theatre
9 Jul 2025
A memorable night for 国大 King Edward VII Hall 中文戏剧 Chinese Drama CCA as they performed before a 600-strong Shanghai audience in Theatre Above! Under the direction of the playwright-director Stan Lai himself, the group's "Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land" had the audience enthralled. In attendance, amongst others, were the performers' families, KEVII Hall Master A/P Lee and Residential Life staff Kellie. It is an accomplishment by our KEVIIANs to explore their passion in theatre abroad. We look forward to the next Chinese Drama production in 2020! KEVIIAN Jothi represents NUS at the 7th ASEAN Student Leaders Forum (ASLF) and the 3rd AUN Student Affairs Network Meeting (AUN SAN)
9 Jul 2025
In February 2019, I was given an opportunity to represent NUS in the 7th ASEAN Student Leaders Forum held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The forum, aimed at discussing initiatives and projects to help fellow students transition into the 4th Industrial Revolution, was a gathering of student leaders from different universities around ASEAN. The forum served as an effective and conducive environment for us student leaders to exchange our best practices and ideas with each other and it also provided me with fresh perspectives on many issues. Such unique viewpoints were invaluable to me as it was shaped by individuals who came from different cultural backgrounds and faced different challenges while growing up. This unforgettable experience was only possible because KEVII Hall provided me with the necessary platform to compete and earn my spot as 1 of 3 delegates from NUS. In a world with an ever increasing focus on academics, my Hall has also served as the perfect complement in my pursuit of holistic excellence and also enabled me to write the best chapters of my university life.

KEVIIANs serve on the NUS Day of Service
10 Dec 2024
Due to mobility issues, some of our vulnerable elderly may have trouble keeping their homes clear of clutter & hazards. On 1 September 2018, as part of NUS Day of Service, over 30 members of our KEVIIAN community came together, and visited the elderly community in Eunos to spring-clean their homes. Working with Tembusu Activity Centre, we aimed to improve safety and sanitation. What entailed was a thorough spruce-up of the houses, hearty chats with the seniors and distribution of some food packs. We were joined by a few exchange students who experienced a different side of Singaporean life as they interacted with the elderly, some of whom have not been able to leave their homes for long periods of time. Mark your calendars for 7 September 2019 for NUS Day of Service with KEVII Hall! Details to be announced soon.

A Tribute to our Healthcare Heroes
10 Dec 2024
The fight is still on! Our KEVIIAN alumni Ming Xuan, who is currently working in the frontline, has this to say to spur her fellow KEVIIANs on: "To all KE alumni in the Healthcare sector, these are trying times but keep fighting on! Don't forget to take care of yourselves as well. #7stepshandhygiene" This is a tribute to all the Healthcare workers currently working tirelessly through the Covid-19 pandemic. You enable us to have the chance to live in normalcy, and to feel safe at home with our family and friends, because we have heroes like you in the frontline, risking your lives every day. For now we KEVIIANs will do our part – practising our personal responsibility in this historic Circuit Breaker period (and any extension of it) – but we will keep you in our hearts every day. We are with you.

KEVII Hallplay collaborates with Alzheimer’s Disease Association to raise awareness about the condition
10 Dec 2024
Collaborated with Alzheimer's Disease Association (ADA) to organise a talk to raise awareness within the KEVII Hall community Learning from the experiences of persons with dementia and their caretakers …just some of KEVII Hallplay's efforts to gear up to stage a sensitive and thoughtful interpretation of Haresh Sharma’s “Don’t Forget To Remember Me” this January. In endeavouring to bring nuanced performances to the play, the cast & crew have themselves become educated on the condition. Join them in this journey of understanding – here is the link to resources on Dementia to get started: https://dementia.org.sg Watch the trailer at: https://youtu.be/n0wVE8BzgD0 Post-production note: The KEVII Hallplay production was held successfully on 17 & 18 Jan 2020 at the University Cultural Centre. Our Hallplay members made technical changes to the production, to provide more comfort to our invited beneficiaries from ADA. We look forward to more social collaborations in the future!
